- We do not accept returns due to vintage/antique items in principle.
Payment
All prices on this site are in US dollars, and any other currency payments are NOT accepted and will be straightaway refunded.

Please complete the payment within 7 days from the order date.
Unless the payment is confirmed by due date, the order will be canceled. (Note that the canceled order will no longer be retrieved unless you ordered them again.)
Ordered items can be held for up to 7 days from the date of the first order placed, which enables you to combine with future order(s).
* If you finish shopping and are ready for us to ship before the 7 days are up, please feel free to let us know.
* We cannot hold the items that have already been packed/shipped, or you have not ordered yet.
Shipping
We always use Japan Post / UPS (United Parcel Service) only.
We only accept the orders for international shipment in this site, and if you prefer domestic delivery in Japan, please place order in Shinei Japanese website.

Customs issues, weather/traffic conditions, postal strikes, and other factors can all contribute to delays.
Here are the countries we proceed with orders by UPS:

[Oceania] Australia
For destination countries other than those listed above, we will proceed with orders by EMS instead.
Once the order was placed and paid in full, your order will be proceeded within a few days in principle.
If your order contains (1) new arrival' items and/or (2) the items stored in our different warehouse, ordinary handling time plus some extra days are required because they need to be transferred to our main warehouse.
All shipping methods include tracking services and insurance (coverage varies).
Tracking numbers are provided when the parcel is ready to be collected, and our automated email (Title: Shipped information) will be sent to your registered email address.
Check the delivery status on each carriers website on your own.
Japan Post (EMS, Surface Mail or ePacket Light)

Especially if you were absent at the time of delivery, normally the courier leaves a failed delivery notice, but this may not always be the case.
Once the designated holding period elapses, your items will be returned to our office in Japan. If your items end up being returned to Japan, we will contact you about reshipment and any relevant postage costs. (Please also check "If the parcel is returned to sender" below.)
Fees / Customs & Taxes
Shipping and Handling fee are always added to the total.
* Handling fee includes the cost of packaging material, labor cost, settlement fees, etc.
International Shipping Rates

* The weight of each list refers to the weight indicated on the item's page of our website. (Not the weight of the package itself.) After packaging the item with appropriate amount of protection, the weight would possibly vary. Also, please note that each item is slightly different weight even same category item.
* The handling fees in the list are just an estimate, and they may be varied subject to the weekly fuel surcharges, for instance.
* There is the high possibility that we may ask you to change the shipping method with extra payment if the order does not fit into a certain-sized box; the items are too many to put into a box, or too heavy to be accepted by UPS /Japan Post.
Import duties, taxes and charges are NOT included in the item price and/or shipping fee, and these are always buyer's responsibility to owe. (We Shinei by no means receive customs or taxes on behalf.)
You may be required to pay a customs fee and/or goods tax when receiving your parcel(s). Tax and duty thresholds vary by country and we unfortunately have no way of knowing what will be charged. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.
In relation to this matter, we do not accept any request to change the value of the items in order to lower or evade taxes.
Return
Due to the vintage/antique status and delicate nature of our items, we do not accept returns in principle.
The kimono which has little defects are categoried vintage kimono enough to wear it actually, and others are categoried antique kimono; in terms of mottai-nai sprit, we have been selling them so-called antique kimono for display purpose, or craft material in order to use even partially.
We will consider a refund if fragile items that are NOT described as cracked in the description are delivered in damaged during shipping/delivery. (In this case, please contact us with the photos so that we can see the situation clearly.)
Also, we both the sender (we, Shinei) and the recipient (you) must file a damage report to the carriers (UPS/Japan Post). If either party doesn't submit, the insurance becomes invalid. *Please note that you will need the shipping label in order to complete the damage report.
If the incident happened, please contact the carrier as soon as possible for further information, while contacting us.
In the event of the parcel being returned to us due to any reason such as "Non-Reclaim" or "Address Unknown" etc., it is the customer's responsibility to owe the return postage from the destination country to Japan.
If you prefer reshipment, please pay for the reshipment postage again.
If not, we will refund the item price only. In case of incurring the returned postage, we will subtract that amount from the item price you paid. (Shipping /handling fee will not be refunded.)
